Data Quality, a major objective in EAD
Aeronautical Data Quality
EUROCONTROL is certified by EASA for the provision of the whole AIS service according to Certificate EASA.AOA.PAN.009 and, as such, complies with the CIR 2017/373 laying down requirements on aeronautical data quality management (ATM/ANS.OR.A.085, AIS.OR.200, AIS.TR.200, AIS.OR.240, AIS.TR.240), amended by (EU) 2020/469.
Since the EAD contains data which are a merge of data originating from individual data providers, its data quality depends directly from the data quality of those individual data providers. In this context, EAD provides a mechanism to those EAD Data Providers to facilitate the annotation of the conformity of data against data quality requirements, allowing to associate a flag of DQR non-conformity to the related data items.
In addition, with this information, EAD generates for each data provider a data quality and notation report that allows EAD clients data users to be informed about the overall DQR compliance status of the EAD.
